  • Volcanoes in Pakistan: A Geological Overview
There are no active volcanoes in Pakistan. While the country is located in a geologically active region, with the Himalayan and Karakoram mountain ranges, there are no known volcanoes that have erupted in recorded history.

However, there are some extinct volcanoes in the country, primarily found in the northwestern regions, close to the border with Afghanistan. Some examples include:

    * Koh-i-Sultan: Located in the Balochistan province, it is considered an extinct volcano, with evidence of past volcanic activity.

    * The Toba Caldera: Located in the north of the country, it is a large volcanic caldera that formed from a massive eruption millions of years ago. While extinct, the Toba Caldera remains a significant geological feature.

It's important to note that the geological activity in the region is still ongoing and it's possible that new volcanic activity could occur in the future.
