  • Where Does the Continental Divide Run? States & Watersheds
    The Continental Divide is not located in a single state. It's a mountain range that stretches across North America, dividing the continent into two major watersheds:

    * The eastern side: Water flows east towards the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico.

    * The western side: Water flows west towards the Pacific Ocean.

    The Continental Divide runs through the following states:

    * Montana

    * Idaho

    * Wyoming

    * Colorado

    * New Mexico

    * Arizona

    * Utah

    * Nevada

    * California

    * Washington

    * Oregon

    * British Columbia (Canada)

    * Alberta (Canada)

    * Saskatchewan (Canada)

    * Manitoba (Canada)

    It also passes through the Rocky Mountains and other mountain ranges along the way.
