The type of sediment that forms from minerals that crystallize seawater is called an evaporate. Evaporates form when seawater evaporates, leaving behind the dissolved minerals. The most common evaporates are halite (rock salt), gypsum, and anhydrite. Evaporates can also form from the evaporation of other bodies of water, such as lakes and rivers.
