Chemical sedimentary rocks are formed by the precipitation and aggregation of minerals from solution. This can happen when the water is saturated with minerals, or when the water cools and the minerals can no longer stay in solution. Chemical sedimentary rocks include limestone, dolomite, and gypsum.
