  • Halogens: Understanding Metalloids and Their Absence
There is no metalloid in the halogen family.

    Here's why:

    * Halogens are a group (column) in the periodic table known for being highly reactive nonmetals. They include fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br), iodine (I), and astatine (At).

    * Metalloids are elements that exhibit properties of both metals and nonmetals. They are found along the "staircase" line separating metals from nonmetals on the periodic table.

Therefore, halogens, being purely nonmetallic, do not contain any metalloids.
