    The reactants of the light-independent reactions (also called the Calvin cycle) in photosynthesis are:

    * Carbon dioxide (CO2): This is the primary source of carbon for the synthesis of sugars.

    * ATP: This is the energy currency of the cell, produced during the light-dependent reactions.

    * NADPH: This is a reduced electron carrier, also produced during the light-dependent reactions, that provides the reducing power for the Calvin cycle.

    Essentially, the light-independent reactions take the energy and reducing power generated in the light-dependent reactions and use them to fix carbon dioxide into organic molecules.
