  • Chemical Composition of Fats: Elements and Structure
    Fat, also known as lipids, are primarily made up of three main chemical elements:

    * Carbon (C)

    * Hydrogen (H)

    * Oxygen (O)

    In addition to these three, some fats also contain small amounts of phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N).

    The specific arrangement of these elements in different types of fats determines their structure and properties. For example, saturated fats have a higher proportion of hydrogen atoms compared to unsaturated fats.
