  • Photosynthesis: What is Produced (and What Isn't)?
The answer is oxygen. Here's why:

    * Photosynthesis is the process where plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to create glucose (sugar) and oxygen.

    * Glucose is the primary product of photosynthesis, providing energy for the plant.

    * Oxygen is a byproduct of photosynthesis, released as a gas.

So while oxygen is important for many living things, it's not the product of photosynthesis itself, but rather a result of the process.
