  • What Are Germs? Understanding the Nature of Microorganisms
Germs are neither solid, liquid, nor gas. They are living organisms, specifically microorganisms.

    Here's why:

    * Solid: Solids have a fixed shape and volume. Germs, being living cells, are much more complex than just a fixed structure. They have internal components and constantly change.

    * Liquid: Liquids have a fixed volume but take the shape of their container. Germs are not simply fluids; they are complex structures with membranes, organelles, and DNA.

    * Gas: Gases have no fixed shape or volume and fill their container. Germs are not dispersed particles like gases.

Therefore, while germs are very small, they are classified as living organisms and not just states of matter.
