  • Physical Properties That Can Change Without Altering Substance Identity
Here are two physical properties that can vary even when the substance itself doesn't change:

    1. Temperature: The temperature of a substance can change without altering its chemical composition. For example, water is still H2O whether it's frozen (ice), liquid, or steam.

    2. State of matter: A substance can exist in different states of matter (solid, liquid, gas) depending on the temperature and pressure. This is a physical change, not a chemical one. Water is a classic example, existing as ice, liquid water, and water vapor.
