    * Fluorinated gases: These are synthetic gases used in refrigeration, aerosols, and other industrial applications.

    * Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6): Used in electrical equipment as an insulator.

    The ability of a gas to absorb infrared radiation depends on the molecular structure of the gas and the frequency of the infrared radiation. Greenhouse gases have molecules that can vibrate in ways that match the frequencies of infrared radiation, allowing them to absorb the energy. This absorption contributes to the greenhouse effect, warming the Earth's atmosphere.
