  • Lead Chloride Synthesis: Reacting Lead Nitrate and Sodium Chloride
Lead chloride (PbCl₂) can be formed by the reaction of two solutions:

    1. Lead(II) nitrate (Pb(NO₃)₂)

    2. Sodium chloride (NaCl)

The balanced chemical equation for this reaction is:

    Pb(NO₃)₂ (aq) + 2NaCl (aq) → PbCl₂ (s) + 2NaNO₃ (aq)

When these solutions are mixed, lead chloride precipitates out as a white solid, leaving sodium nitrate in solution.
