  • Hydrogen Peroxide and Litmus Paper: Understanding the Reaction
Hydrogen peroxide does not turn litmus paper blue or red. Here's why:

    * Hydrogen peroxide is not an acid or a base. It's a neutral compound.

    * Litmus paper is used to test for acidity or alkalinity. Red litmus paper turns blue in the presence of a base, and blue litmus paper turns red in the presence of an acid.

    * Since hydrogen peroxide is neutral, it won't change the color of litmus paper.

In short, hydrogen peroxide will not have any effect on the color of litmus paper.
