  • Sprite: Mixture or Compound? Understanding its Composition
Sprite is a mixture. Here's why:

    * Mixtures are combinations of two or more substances where each substance retains its own properties. You can separate the components of a mixture by physical means.

    * Compounds are formed when two or more elements chemically combine in a fixed ratio. They have properties different from the original elements.

Sprite is made up of several ingredients, including:

    * Water: A pure substance (compound)

    * Sugar: A pure substance (compound)

    * Citric acid: A pure substance (compound)

    * Carbon dioxide: A pure substance (compound)

    * Flavorings: These can be mixtures themselves, but they are ultimately made from pure substances.

You can easily separate some of the components of Sprite:

    * Evaporation: Heating Sprite will evaporate the water, leaving behind the other components.

    * Filtration: You can filter out some of the solid particles from Sprite.

Since Sprite is a combination of substances that can be separated by physical means, it is a mixture.
