  • Ice: Compound or Mixture? Understanding Water's Form
    Ice is a compound.

    Here's why:

    * Compound: A substance formed when two or more different elements are chemically bonded together.

    * Mixture: A combination of two or more substances that are not chemically bonded.

Ice is simply frozen water (H₂O). Water is a compound made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. These atoms are chemically bonded together, making ice a compound as well.
