  • Atomic Nucleus: Understanding Positive Charge and Composition
The nucleus of an atom is positively charged.

    Here's why:

    * Protons: The nucleus contains protons, which are positively charged particles.

    * Neutrons: The nucleus also contains neutrons, which have no charge (they are neutral).

    * Electrons: Electrons, which are negatively charged particles, orbit the nucleus.

Since the nucleus has protons (positive charge) and neutrons (no charge), the overall charge of the nucleus is positive.
