  • Physical vs. Chemical Change: Lemonade Powder in Water Explained
Mixing lemonade powder into water is a physical change. Here's why:

    * No new substances are formed: The lemonade powder and water simply dissolve into each other. The components (sugar, citric acid, etc.) remain the same, they just become more spread out.

    * The change is reversible: You can evaporate the water, leaving the lemonade powder behind. This means the change can be undone.

Chemical changes involve the formation of new substances with different properties. For example, baking a cake would be a chemical change because the ingredients react to form a new substance (the cake).
