  • Oxygen: The Product of Photosynthesis and Fuel for Cellular Respiration
The gas used in cellular respiration that was produced by photosynthesis is oxygen (O2).

    Here's why:

    * Photosynthesis: Plants and other photosynthetic organisms use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to create glucose (sugar) and oxygen. This oxygen is released into the atmosphere.

    * Cellular Respiration: Living organisms, including plants and animals, use oxygen to break down glucose, releasing energy in the form of ATP. This process also produces carbon dioxide as a byproduct, which is then used in photosynthesis.

So, it's a beautiful cycle: photosynthesis produces the oxygen used in cellular respiration, and cellular respiration produces the carbon dioxide used in photosynthesis.
