  • Understanding the 3 States of Matter: Solids, Liquids & Gases
The three basic states of matter are:

    1. Solid: Solids have a fixed shape and volume. The particles are tightly packed together and vibrate in place.

    2. Liquid: Liquids have a fixed volume but take the shape of their container. The particles are close together but can move around each other.

    3. Gas: Gases have no fixed shape or volume. The particles are far apart and move freely.
