  • Vaporization: Understanding Liquid to Gas Phase Change
The process of a liquid changing to a gas is called vaporization.

There are two main types of vaporization:

    * Evaporation: This occurs when a liquid changes to a gas at the surface of the liquid. It happens slowly and at any temperature.

    * Boiling: This occurs when a liquid changes to a gas throughout the entire liquid, at a specific temperature called the boiling point.

Both processes involve the molecules of the liquid gaining enough energy to overcome the forces holding them together and escape into the gaseous state.
