  • Understanding Atomic Nuclei: Protons and Neutrons Explained
    The nucleus of an atom is made up of two types of particles:

    * Protons: These particles have a positive charge and contribute to the atom's atomic number.

    * Neutrons: These particles have no charge (they are neutral) and contribute to the atom's atomic mass.

    Together, protons and neutrons are called nucleons.
