  • Diatomic Molecules: Understanding Elemental Gases (Except Noble Gases)
    Elemental gases, except for Noble Gases, come in diatomic molecules. This means they exist as molecules composed of two atoms of the same element.

    Here are the diatomic elements:

    * Hydrogen (H₂)

    * Nitrogen (N₂)

    * Oxygen (O₂)

    * Fluorine (F₂)

    * Chlorine (Cl₂)

    * Bromine (Br₂)

    * Iodine (I₂)

    These elements form diatomic molecules because they are more stable in this configuration. They achieve a full outer shell of electrons by sharing electrons with another atom of the same element.
