Lime sinks are destructive. They form sink holes that result in the collapse of the ground surface, causing damage to property and infrastructure, and even loss of life. Erosion caused by water seeping into the ground also results in the enlargement of joints and cracks present in the limestone, weakening the rock bed further and causing instability of the terrain
