  • Distillation Process: What Doesn't It Involve?
    Filtration.

In the process of distillation, a mixture of liquids is heated to a temperature at which the more volatile component vaporizes, the vapor is then condensed back into a liquid, and the two liquids are collected separately. Filtration, on the other hand, is a mechanical process that separates solids from liquids by passing the mixture through a filter.
