  • PVC Safety: Is Contact Harmful? Risks & Precautions
While polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is generally considered safe to touch under normal conditions, when burned or degraded, it has the potential to release toxic chemicals, including hydrogen chloride and dioxins. These chemicals can cause several health effects ranging from eye and respiratory tract irritation to potential carcinogenic risks upon excessive and prolonged exposure. Therefore, precautions such as proper ventilation, protective gear, and handling guidelines should be followed during manufacturing, processing, or disposal of PVC.
