  • Ionization of Potassium Chloride (KCl) in Water: Understanding K+ and Cl- Ions
When KCl is dissolved in H2O, it dissociates into its constituent ions, K+ and Cl-. The K+ ions are positively charged, while the Cl- ions are negatively charged. These ions are then surrounded by water molecules, which form a hydration sphere around them. This process of dissociation is known as ionization.
