When two or more atoms bond together and share electrons, they form a molecule. A molecule is a group of atoms that are held together by chemical bonds. The electrons that are shared between the atoms are called valence electrons. The valence electrons are the electrons in the outermost shell of an atom. When two or more atoms share valence electrons, they can form a stable bond.
