  • Understanding pH, pOH, and Molarity: Acid-Base Measurement
The units used to measure acids and bases are pH, pOH, and molarity (M).

    - pH measures the acidity or basicity of a solution on a scale from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. A pH below 7 indicates an acidic solution, while a pH above 7 indicates a basic solution.

    - pOH is a related measurement to acidity, calculated by subtracting the pH of a solution from 14. It measures the amount of hydroxide ions (OH-) in a solution and therefore its alkalinity.

    - Molarity measures the concentration of solute (usually acid or base) in a solution, expressed as the number of moles of solute per liter of solution.
