  • Reaction of Carbon and Lead Oxide: Products and Explanation
    Mixing carbon with lead oxide will not produce a metal. Carbon is a non-metallic element, and lead oxide is a compound of lead and oxygen. When carbon and lead oxide are heated together, the carbon will act as a reducing agent and remove the oxygen from the lead oxide, producing lead metal and carbon dioxide gas.
