  • Ammonia Solubility in Water: Temperature & Ratio Explained
Ammonia is highly soluble in water. In fact, at room temperature (25°C) ammonia gas dissolves in water in a ratio of approximately 1:5 by volume, meaning that one volume of ammonia gas dissolves in five volumes of water. This high solubility is due to the strong intermolecular forces between the polar ammonia molecules and the polar water molecules, which results in a favorable interaction between the two substances.
