  • Water's States of Matter: Liquid, Solid & Gas Explained
At room temperature (around 25 degrees Celsius or 77 degrees Fahrenheit), H2O is a liquid. However, it can exist in all three states of matter depending on the temperature and pressure. At temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit), it is a solid (ice), and at temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius (212 degrees Fahrenheit), it is a gas (steam or water vapor).
