  • Separating Carbon, Iodine, and Copper Sulfate: A Step-by-Step Guide
Carbon, iodine, and copper sulfate can be separated by filtration and sublimation.

    1. Filtration: Add the mixture to a beaker of water and stir well to dissolve the copper sulfate. Filter the mixture through a filter paper to separate the carbon and iodine from the copper sulfate solution.

    2. Sublimation: Place the filter paper with the carbon and iodine in a sublimation apparatus. Heat the filter paper gently to sublimate the iodine. The iodine will vaporize and condense on a cool surface, leaving the carbon behind.

    3. Crystallization: Evaporate the copper sulfate solution to dryness. The copper sulfate will crystallize out of the solution.
