Here's how it works:
* Proteins are synthesized in the ribosomes.
* Proteins are then transported to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).
* Within the ER, proteins undergo folding and modification.
* From the ER, proteins move to the Golgi apparatus.
* In the Golgi, proteins are further modified, sorted, and packaged into vesicles.
* These vesicles then transport the proteins to their final destinations:
* Some proteins are released outside the cell (exocytosis).
* Others are delivered to other organelles within the cell.
* Some are even embedded within the cell membrane.
So, the Golgi apparatus acts like a post office, sorting and packaging proteins for their specific addresses within the cell or outside the cell.
