    * Microfilaments (Actin Filaments): These are thin, solid filaments made of the protein actin. They are involved in:

    * Cell shape and support: They provide support and maintain the cell's shape.

    * Cell movement: They help cells crawl and change shape, and are involved in muscle contraction.

    * Cytoplasmic streaming: They help move organelles and cytoplasm within the cell.

    * Cell division: They form the contractile ring that pinches the cell in two during cytokinesis.

    * Intermediate Filaments: These are tough, rope-like filaments made of various proteins, depending on the cell type. They are involved in:

    * Structural support: They provide tensile strength and help anchor organelles.

    * Motor Proteins: These proteins bind to the cytoskeleton filaments and use energy from ATP to move along them. Examples include kinesin and dynein, which move along microtubules, and myosin, which moves along microfilaments.
