  • Eukaryotic Cells: Definition, Characteristics & Key Differences
Organisms whose cells always or usually contain a nucleus are called eukaryotes.

    Here's why:

    * Eukaryotic cells are characterized by having a membrane-bound nucleus that houses their genetic material (DNA).

    * Prokaryotic cells, on the other hand, lack a nucleus and their DNA is located in a region called the nucleoid.

So, the defining feature that sets eukaryotes apart is the presence of a true nucleus.
