  • Prokaryotic DNA: Structure, Location, and Function
The genetic material of prokaryotes is DNA.

    Here's why:

    * Prokaryotes are single-celled organisms without a nucleus or other membrane-bound organelles.

    * DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is the molecule that carries genetic information in all living organisms, including prokaryotes.

While prokaryotes don't have a nucleus, their DNA is located in a region called the nucleoid. This region is not enclosed by a membrane, but the DNA is still organized and compacted within it.
