  • Theodor Schwann: Pioneer of Cell Theory and Animal Tissue Research
    The German zoologist who claimed that all animals are made of cells was Theodor Schwann.

    He, along with Matthias Schleiden, formulated the cell theory in the 1830s, which stated that all living organisms are composed of cells. Schwann's work specifically focused on animal tissues, while Schleiden focused on plant tissues.
