  • DNA and RNA: Understanding Genetic Information Storage
The macromolecule that holds genetic information is nucleic acid.

More specifically, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the primary carrier of genetic information in most organisms. DNA contains the instructions for building and maintaining an organism.

Ribonucleic acid (RNA) plays a crucial role in translating the genetic information encoded in DNA into proteins, which carry out various functions in the cell.

So while both DNA and RNA are nucleic acids, DNA is the main repository of genetic information.
