  • Photosynthesis: What Plants Gain - Energy & Growth Explained
Photosynthesis gives plants glucose (sugar). This is their primary source of energy, which they use for:

    * Growth: Building new cells, stems, leaves, and roots.

    * Reproduction: Producing flowers, seeds, and fruits.

    * Repair: Fixing damaged parts of the plant.

    * Metabolic Processes: Carrying out essential functions like respiration and nutrient transport.

In addition to glucose, photosynthesis also produces oxygen as a byproduct. While the plant uses some of this oxygen for its own respiration, it releases the rest into the atmosphere, which is essential for all animals, including humans, to breathe.
