* Cell Wall: This rigid outer layer made of cellulose provides structural support and protection. Animal cells lack this.
* Chloroplasts: These organelles are responsible for photosynthesis, converting sunlight into energy. Animal cells do not perform photosynthesis and therefore don't have chloroplasts.
* Large Central Vacuole: This large, fluid-filled sac helps maintain cell shape, stores water and nutrients, and plays a role in waste disposal. Animal cells may have small vacuoles, but not a large central one.
* Plasmodesmata: These are channels that connect adjacent plant cells, allowing for communication and transport between them. Animal cells have gap junctions that serve a similar purpose, but they are structurally different.
While animal cells lack these features, they do have other structures that plant cells don't, such as centrioles and lysosomes.
