  • Fucus Gametes: Understanding Oogamous Reproduction
Fucus is oogamous. This means that the gametes are different in size and morphology.

    Here's why:

    * Oogamous reproduction involves a large, non-motile egg cell and a smaller, motile sperm cell.

    * Fucus exhibits this pattern. It produces a large, immobile egg cell and numerous small, motile sperm cells.

In contrast, isogamous reproduction involves gametes that are the same size and morphology. This is not the case for Fucus.
