  • The Nucleus: The Control Center of the Cell - Function & DNA
The cell part that controls the activities of a cell is the nucleus.

    Here's why:

    * Contains DNA: The nucleus houses the cell's genetic material, DNA. DNA contains the instructions for building and maintaining the cell, including the production of proteins.

    * Directs Protein Synthesis: The nucleus directs the production of proteins, which are essential for virtually every cellular function.

    * Controls Cell Division: The nucleus plays a critical role in cell division, ensuring that each new cell receives a complete copy of the DNA.

While other organelles have important functions, the nucleus is the central control center of the cell.
