  • Mitosis: How Daughter Cells Maintain Chromosome Numbers
The cell division where daughter cells have the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell is called mitosis.

    Here's why:

    * Mitosis is a type of cell division that produces two identical daughter cells. This means that each daughter cell receives a complete copy of the parent cell's DNA, including all the chromosomes.

    * Meiosis, on the other hand, is involved in sexual reproduction and produces daughter cells with half the number of chromosomes as the parent cell. This is because meiosis is involved in creating gametes (sperm and egg cells).
