  • tRNA: The RNA Molecule That Binds to Exposed Bases for Protein Synthesis
The type of free RNA that pairs up with exposed bases is tRNA (transfer RNA).

    Here's how it works:

    * mRNA (messenger RNA) carries the genetic code from DNA to the ribosomes.

    * Ribosomes are the protein synthesis machinery in the cell.

    * tRNA acts as a molecular adapter, bringing specific amino acids to the ribosome based on the sequence of codons in the mRNA.

    * Anticodon loop: Each tRNA molecule has an anticodon loop with three exposed bases that can pair up with the complementary codon in the mRNA. This pairing ensures the correct amino acid is added to the growing polypeptide chain.

Therefore, tRNA's exposed bases in the anticodon loop pair up with the exposed bases in the codons of mRNA.
