  • Nucleic Acids: The Building Blocks of Genetic Information
The genetic material in living organisms is composed of organic molecules called nucleic acids.

There are two main types of nucleic acids:

    * Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA): This is the primary genetic material in most organisms, carrying the instructions for building and maintaining an organism.

    * Ribonucleic acid (RNA): This plays a crucial role in protein synthesis, using the instructions encoded in DNA to build proteins.
