  • The Role of Leaves in Plant Sugar Production: Understanding Photosynthesis
The part of the plant that makes sugar is the leaves.

    Here's why:

    * Photosynthesis: Leaves are the site of photosynthesis, the process where plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to create their own food (sugar).

    * Chloroplasts: Leaves contain tiny structures called chloroplasts, which are filled with chlorophyll, the green pigment that absorbs sunlight.

    * Sugar Production: Chlorophyll captures light energy, which is used to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose (a type of sugar) and oxygen.

So, while roots absorb water and stems transport nutrients, it's the leaves that are the primary sugar factories of a plant!
