  • Cell Cycle G1 Phase: Understanding Cell Growth & Development
The stage of the cell cycle where a cell grows to its full size is G1 phase, which stands for "Gap 1". Here's why:

    * G1 Phase: This is the first gap phase of the cell cycle. During this phase, the cell is actively growing, producing proteins, and organelles, and increasing its overall size. It's a period of intense metabolic activity.

    * S Phase: This is the synthesis phase, where DNA replication occurs. The cell prepares for division.

    * G2 Phase: This is the second gap phase, where the cell continues to grow and produces proteins needed for mitosis.

    * M Phase: This is the mitotic phase, where the cell divides into two daughter cells.

Therefore, the cell reaches its full size during the G1 phase before it enters the S phase and begins preparing for division.
