    * Myelinating cells in the CNS.

    * Wrap around axons of neurons: Form a fatty myelin sheath that insulates the axons and speeds up nerve impulse conduction.

    3. Schwann cells:

    * Myelinating cells in the peripheral nervous system (PNS).

    * Wrap around axons of neurons: Similar to oligodendrocytes, they form the myelin sheath in the PNS.

    * Can also support non-myelinated axons.

    4. Microglia:

    * Small, phagocytic cells found in the CNS.

    * Immune cells of the CNS: Remove cellular debris, pathogens, and damaged neurons.

    * Immune surveillance: Play a role in inflammation and repair processes.

    5. Ependymal cells:

    * Line the ventricles of the brain and central canal of the spinal cord.

    * Produce cerebrospinal fluid (CSF): A fluid that cushions the brain and spinal cord and provides nutrients.

    * Circulate CSF: Help to move CSF through the ventricles.
