  • Insectivorous vs. Carnivorous Plants: What's the Difference?
Yes, insectivorous plants and carnivorous plants are essentially the same thing.

Both terms refer to plants that derive some or most of their nutrients from trapping and digesting insects and other small animals.

"Carnivorous" is the more scientifically accurate term, as it encompasses a wider range of prey. While "insectivorous" implies a diet focused on insects, carnivorous plants can also consume other invertebrates like spiders, snails, and even small amphibians.

However, both terms are commonly used and understood to refer to the same group of fascinating plants.
