  • Plant vs. Animal Cells: Understanding Photosynthesis
One process that happens in a plant cell but not an animal cell is photosynthesis.

    Here's why:

    * Photosynthesis is the process of converting light energy into chemical energy in the form of sugars. This process requires chloroplasts, organelles found only in plant cells.

    * Animal cells lack chloroplasts and therefore cannot perform photosynthesis. They obtain their energy by consuming other organisms (heterotrophic).
